Gatineau man arrested after break-in, sex assault

Police nabbed a 35-year-old Gatineau man in connection with a sex assault after a home break-in on Tuesday.

A Buckingham resident called 911 at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, but the suspect was gone when police arrived.

Information from the victim, as well as police patrols, helped lead to an arrest of a suspect more than an hour after the initial call.

Walter Gagnon faces several charges, including sexual assault and breaking and entering, and is expected to appear in Quebec Court on Wednesday.
